Rosemary hydrosol
Rosemary hydrosol has a fresh herbaceous aroma with a light camphoraceous shade. It is considerably milder than the essential oil but retains a recognisable herbal character, which makes it well suited to functional-looking, «clean» cosmetic concepts.
The main direction is hair care and scalp care: tonics, sprays, mists and the water phase of shampoos or treatment products. Rosemary water is also appropriate in men’s cosmetics, refreshing tonics, body products and botanical lines.
For the manufacturer rosemary hydrosol is convenient as an ingredient that is easy to explain on a label and to link with a herbal product concept. It combines particularly well with mint, lavender and tea tree, allowing ready-made botanical water bases to be assembled.
