Mint hydrosol
Mint hydrosol gives a light fresh mint-herbaceous note without the intensity of the essential oil. This makes it convenient for everyday water-based formulas that need clean freshness but where a strongly menthol aroma would be unwelcome.
In cosmetics the hydrosol suits mists, tonics, post-sport products, foot care, scalp care and summer refreshing products. It can serve as part of the water phase while supporting a mint/cooling concept at the organoleptic level.
For manufacturers of sprays and light leave-on formats this is a practical way to obtain a natural mint story without introducing essential oil at high concentration and dealing with the additional questions of solubilisation.
