Essential oils

Peppermint essential oil is a high-intensity ingredient with bright menthol freshness and a pronounced cooling sensation. Its value to the technologist lies in the immediate sensory effect: even a small amount noticeably changes how a flavour or fragrance composition is perceived.

In the food industry peppermint oil is a base raw material for confectionery, chewing gum, beverages, syrups, chocolate and mint-flavour systems. A separate major application is oral care: toothpastes, mouthwashes and other products where a clean mint profile and stable aroma intensity matter.

In cosmetics the oil is in demand in shampoos, scalp products, foot care, sports and refreshing lines, soap and gels. In perfumery and home-care formulas it strengthens the top notes, adds a sense of cleanliness and works well alongside eucalyptus, rosemary, citrus and coniferous oils.

The key parameters of peppermint oil are not only price but also the reproducibility of the menthol profile, conformity with the stated specification and batch-to-batch stability. It is these characteristics that determine how easily the material scales up in serial production.
